BOARD MEMBERS
My name is Godwin Okoro. I am a retired Civil Servant and I am the President of Godmo Compassionate Network. I retired From the State of California about 5 years ago. Originally I am from Nigeria. From a very poor beginning, education was practically non-existent in my growing up in the Delta State of Nigeria. Opportunity came when we had a free primary education established in the old Bendel State of Nigeria by the former Finance Minister, Obafemi Owolowo. I eventually migrated to the United States where I worked for the State of California Franchise Tax Board for 28 years. As stated above, I am now retired. However, in a recent visit to Nigeria I visited some elementary schools and I was moved with what I saw in their classrooms. The Children have no desk to sit.

Some of them were sitting on the floor. I also noticed that their roofs were licking during the rainy season. There were many other issues like supplies of textbooks, computers, etc but, I was moved with those two issues. As a result I wanted to do something for those kids just as some people has helped me to be where I am today. This was the reason I decided to form Godmo Compassionate Network, a non-profit organization to help the remote community schools.
